Top Spellers in NEPA

He spelled his way to the top in the Hazleton Area School District…and
now we need to send out another BIG Congratulations to Devin Reed, a 6th
grade student from Drums Elementary Middle School, for being crowned the
regional champion of this year’s “Scripps NEPA Regional Spelling Bee. ”
Reed earned the title of the “top speller” Sunday at the Woodlands in
Wilkes-barre and now will head to Washington D.C. to compete in the
Scripps National Spelling Bee.The event even receives national
attention…with live coverage on E-S-P-N! And Another big congrats to
7th grader Pranjal Satija from Valley Elementary Middle School. Satija
was first runner up and will be eligible to compete again next year. 21
students from schools throughout the region participated in the Bee and
each had previously won their school’s spelling bee. On Tuesday, News
13’s Jasmine Brooks will sit down with Reed and Satija to talk about
their amazing experience. A HUGE c-o-n-g-r-a-t-s to the boys and also to
Drums student Gabriella Kupsho who also spelled her way to the regional bee.
