Terroristic Threats Against D.A.
He’s accused of making threats against Luzerne County’s top investigator along with other members of law enforcement and government officials. 43-year-old Sean Donahue of Hazleton is now behind bars. Investigators say Donahue allegedly made terroristic threats against Luzerne County District Attorney Stefanie Salavantis through an email. News 13 also received a copy of that email sent to us from Donahue himself. Hazleton Police and its’ heavily armed SWAT team executed a search warrant at Donahue’s Cleveland Street home late Tuesday night. Donahue is known for sending many emails, almost daily, to media outlets, law enforcement and government officials including the FBI. One email to Salavantis, sent on August 17th, stated that he would engage in a gunfight with City Police if the District Attorney did not comply with his demands. Police tell us, Donahue sent a number of emails to Salavantis, threatening violence and even asked her to provide him with assault weapons and bulletproof clothing. According to Wednesday’s edition of the Standard Speaker, Donahue refused to answer any of Judge Joe Zola’s questions during his arraignment Tuesday night unless he had an attorney.
For now, Donahue sits in a jail cell. His bail was set at $100-thousand.
