Riding for “Joey”
Each year, the Freeland American Legion Post 473 hosts a Bike Run to benefit local children who suffer serious medical problems. This year, all proceeds will go to one very special little boy named “Joey”. The 7th Annual Emilio Ranieri Memorial Bike Run is coming up Saturday, August 18. This year’s beneficiary of the event is 4-year-old Joey Bistrek who battles Cerebral Palsey. Each year, the run benefits Freeland children and kids from surrounding communities. This year, the American Legion Riders decided to ride for Joey and raise money for this brave little boy. The money will help with Joey’s medical expenses and things he will need in the years to come. The Bike Run again is Saturday August 18th. Registration starts at 10am at the Legion on Centre Street and then its’ kickstands up at noon. Riders pay 15-dollars, passenger pay 10-dollars. The ride ends up at the Legion where there will be tricky trays, 50/50 raffle, food, music and more. For those who don’t want to ride in the run, you are invited to the Legion to enjoy the after party for just 10-dollars.
