Preparing to Feed Hundreds
As we all get ready to sit down to our holiday feasts Thursday, some of our friends and neighbors may not be as fortunate. Several local churches and organizations will serve a nice hot thanksgiving dinner for people that may need some extra help this holiday. Preparing to feed hundreds of people is not an easy job, and today is crunch time! Volunteers at St. Gabriel’s Parish told News 13, the hard work is worth it because they plan on feeding over 500 people this Thanksgiving. The Commission on Economic Opportunity has teamed up with the Weinberg Food Pantry to provide a free Thanksgiving meal to the people of Hazleton, and this feast would not be possible without the all the caring volunteers. A few more hundred people will gather at Community Bible Fellowship for Thanksgiving dinner. Volunteers are working around the clock to have everything ready to go! Both Thanksgiving meals are being served Thursday, both begin at 11am. No reservation is needed.
