Crackdown on Roads
There will be a lot of traffic this weekend with folks driving to see
family to celebrate the holiday.
And because of that, Local Police Departments, including officers from
the City of Hazleton are taking part in an effort coordinated by PennDOT
to crack down on aggressive drivers and keep everyone safe this Easter.
Its also important to crack down on motorists this time of the year
because construction work is happening just about everywhere. Hazleton
Police will patrol targeted roads starting Thursday to catch drivers who
are speeding, tailgating, improperly passing and running red lights. The
effort is part of the Pennsylvania Aggressive Driving Enforcement and
Education Project, which runs through April 29. Drivers caught speeding
or who are involved in crashes in active work zones lose their licenses
for 15 days if convicted.
